Age Group

At Lynton House Day Nursery we are registered to provide care for children aged 3months to 5yrs. Children are looked after and cared for in 4 age appropriate rooms.

Our baby room is for children aged 3months – 16/18months.

Our mini-toddlers is for children aged 16/18months -2yrs.

Our toddler room is for children aged 2-3yrs old.

Our preschool is for children aged 3yrs plus.

We co-ordinate room moves three times a year, January, Easter and September. This is to ensure that children always move into their next room with peers from their previous room. This we feel helps to support their personal, social and emotional wellbeing. Therefore the ages of rooms are just a guideline.

Whilst the children do spend time in their own play and learning rooms, they do play and mix together in our large outdoor area. This works very well as children gain a sense of awareness of others, whether it is the babies playing with the toddlers or the pre-schoolers. At Lynton House nursery we are all part of the same ‘family’.
